This is Johnnie Be Good “Senior Head Anchor” for the Pug Rescue Network with an update on PRN#212 “Daniel Robert”. Ladies & Gentlemen, Daniel is in trouble. Daniel had a seizure January 22, 2008, a very mild one. Our Angels took Daniel in right away for additional blood work to be done so we could find out what the problem was. Additional blood work was done as well as an ultrasound and Daniel Robert may have a “Porto systemic Shunt”. Now the ultrasound showed Daniels liver to be of normal size, so that is good. I wasn’t quite sure what a shunt was so I asked Foster Mom and she told me it is an abnormal vessel that allows blood to bypass the liver, resulting in the blood not being cleansed by the liver. I don’t know about you guys, but to me, it sounds serious. Our boy Daniel is going to need to be taken to Michigan State University where additional diagnostic testing and ultrasounds can be done to determine if in fact there is a shunt the size and where the shunt is located.
The estimated cost for Daniel's visit and possible surgery will be approximately $3,500.00!! The other Pugs and I discussed possible fund raising ideas for our Daniel and after taking a vote, we’ve decided that all donations given to the Pug Rescue Network for the next two months will go directly to the cost of taking care of our precious Daniel Robert.
This poor guy has been through so much in his short life, he’s only two years old!! We must try and save him!! I know times are very hard right now but, if everyone that reads this donates just $5.00 then you would be reaching out to help save a life. I beg of you to help us help Daniel.
Please consider being a “Sponsor” for Daniel and if I may ask one more favor from everyone, keep”Daniel Robert” in your thoughts and prayers as he deals with yet another serious health issue.
