This is Senior Head Anchor "Johnnie Be Good" reporting live from PRN World headquarters
I'd like for everyone to give a warm welcome to one of our new arrivals PRN#255
Miss Miley "Mae". "Mae" came into rescue as an owner surrender, she may look familiar as she is
PRN#253 "Spaz"'s Mom. "Mae" is in the same foster home as me and I've had a bit of time to
spend with her so here's what I know. Mae suffered a previous eye injury, the eye was popped out
in a fight and she is completely blind in her Right eye. "Mae" can only see out of the upper
portion of her Left eye as the bottom is covered with fibrosis and PK. Mae had Ectropion surgery
on Thursday October 29th. We were able to save her blind eye by bringing up the tear production
and doing the surgery to make her eyes smaller. While she was under for her eye surgery she
was also spayed and microchipped.
"Mae" came through her surgery very well and is recovering nicely. She is Currently on
Mucomyst Drops and Tacrolimus both she will require forever. "Mae" has also been brought
up to date on all her vaccinations as well. "Mae" will need to be seen in a few weeks to
have her sutures removed and see how her recovery is going and then she will be available for
adoption once she has been released.
"Mae" came into rescue very defensive I would be too if I could'nt see that good. She has learned
that no one is going to take anything from her and has been fully integrated with everyone
here. I even share my snuggle ball with her!! "Mae" has excellent recall and walks really well
on her harness and leash. We had a bit of a struggle with getting her to eat and it took her
a couple of weeks to come around but she is doing great now. She is crate trained and is doing
really well with going outside to potty. "Mae" loves to chew on her nylabones and loves her stuffed
babies too.
Once "Mae" is ready for adoption if you feel your home would be the perfect "forver home" for "Mae"
please fill out and "Adoption Application" and put her name on it. If your unable to adopt at this
time please consider becoming a "Sponsor" for "Mae".
This is Senior Head Anchor "Johnnie Be Good" off to watch the ten o'clock news.
