The Pug Rescue Network is excited to welcome Linus P. Alexander into our rescue family. Linus was surrendered by a growing family who no longer had time to dedicate to him. Aside from being moderately plump, Linus is absolutely perfect! He is a great couch buddy as he LOVES to cuddle and watch TV and gives little kisses when he thinks you need them. He is a very well behaved and calm young adult. He is a little shy but loves being around people. He plays well with others: he gets along with other dogs and is very tolerant of children. He is housebroken and crate trained. Aside from working on leash skills and putting him on a dog food & carrot diet, he is making his foster’s job easy! If you think Linus is the perfect pug for you, please begin by filling out an application for his adoption. If you are unsure about adopting but want to let Linus know you care, consider becoming his sponsor. |

Hello everyone this is Johnny “Be Good” reporting on this beautiful day at Pug Rescue Network headquarters. PRN would like to welcome back PRN# 117 “Yue Ying”. I have to tell you I had a hard time starting off with this report and I think you will see my challenge. I reported for duty on Wednesday June 20, 2007 and was told that PRN had a new pug coming into rescue, so I scrambled to the scene and there she was, a beautiful little girl. I usually do not have a problem with getting tongue-tied but I did with this beauty. I started off the interview and I thought this girl was arguing with me and here is a clip of how it went. What is our name she said “Yue” and I said, no, your name, “Yue” no me, no it is “Yue” not me you. Then she stopped me and said slow down there big boy my name is “Yue Ying” (sounds like you) and if Yue would like you can just call me Ying. Wow ok, I did not think this job was going to be this tough, but oh well with every job there are challenges. Yue see, Yue was causing a ruckus at night and with the living arrangements she kept the neighbors up at night. Well they were complaining and well the decision was made to return her to back to PRN. Now “Yue Ying” is in boot camp and will be evaluated for the next couple weeks. Some of Yue may remember Yue Ying, was the first litter of puppies born at PRN in June of 2005, this makes this little girl 2 years young. Pug Rescue Network has not had to many females this year, so if I were Yue, I would hurry up and submit an application for this young lady. Yue does require eye drops 3 times per day. Yue will be seen by the PRN Ophthalmologist for an evaluation and once this is completed her “Forever Home” will be chosen. Boy, I think I am still a little confused about this one Yue know. If Yue are interested in “Yue Ying” please submit an application with her name on it and PRN# 117. If you cannot adopt please consider sponsoring “Yue Ying” with a monetary donation. I am sure she would love it. |

We would like to introduce Maxamillion Corleone. His friends just call him Max, so you can to. Max is a sweetheart, despite his last name. He is 21 months, house broken and some what crate trained. He was well cared for and is up to date on all his shots with Classic Pug Looks. Being a youngster, Max wants to play with everybody, but not everyone wants to play. The other pets in Max's house didn't always want to play. This caused conflict, which is why Max was surrendered. Max does well with dogs closer to his own size. He has not been with a cat in rescue, so that has not been evaluated. He does bark at a lot of bigger dogs, but that could be his way of trying to get them to play. He loves toys and bones, and going places. When Max isn't playing he likes to be with his human and cuddle. While in rescue, Max will be learning to walk on a leash and get use to spending time in his crate. |

This is “Ava Sue” Senior Head Anchor for Pug Rescue Network I would like to introduce one of our new rescues and my very dear friend PRN#181 “Johnnie” aka “Johnnie Be Good!!! Johnnie came into rescue on February 3rd, 2007 it’s a day I’ll never forget. My friend Johnnie came to PRN as an owner surrender. Johnnie was hurt really really bad back in October of 2006 and was never taken to see a veterinarian for his injury. My friend Johnnie was hurt by a very large breed dog and suffered spinal and neurological damage and also suffered an injury to his ear. As I already stated, Johnnie wasn’t taken to the vet!!! When Johnnie came bursting through the doors of my Foster home it almost made me cry. He is very unsteady on his back legs and sometimes they tend to drag a bit. Now don’t get me wrong, he gets around like nobodies business. Foster Mom put lots of throw rugs down so he can get good traction; he’s a little wobbly and knows how to do the splits too!! It makes me sad and angry to think that Johnnie could have been fixed with proper medical attention at the time of his injury. Johnnie went to our wonderful veterinarians on Thursday, February 8th, 2007. I of course also went along for moral support and I also had a Doctors appointment too. After examining Johnnie, our Orthopedic Surgeon confirmed that Johnnie indeed had a spinal injury and damage that just can’t be fixed, the injury is too old and odds are the surgery won’t work. Please don’t worry, my friend Johnnie isn’t in any pain he just gets around a little differently than the rest of us. Johnnie was taken back to Oakland Animal Hospital on Monday, February 12, 2007 he was neutered, had a full dental. my poor friend lost “2” teeth and had his soft palate lasered and I mean he had a lot taken off!!! My friend also has very low tear production in both his eyes so he was also put on Tacrolimus drops to see if we can get his eyes working right again. Johnnie has been put on an anti-inflammatory therapy to see if we see any improvement in his back legs. My friend has such spirit it’s just unbelievable!! He is just so happy and loves to go out and eat snow and woo woo at the world!! I spend a lot of time lying next to Johnnie (NO, I don’t have a crush on him!!!) I’m on my snuggle ball and he’s in his room (crate). My friend is so good in his room he hasn’t had any accidents and is so quiet and good. I’ve been showing him the ropes and just being there to comfort him. My friend Johnnie is so good about letting Foster Mom tear his eyes, I let her do mine first just so he could see that it wouldn’t hurt. I know after everything he’s been through, he’s not feeling all that great right now, but he’ll be back to his old self in no time!! Did I mention how incredibly handsome my friend Johnnie is?? (NO, I don’t have a crush on him!!) I know my Angels at Pug Rescue Network are going to find my friend Johnnie the most perfect “Forever Home”, is it yours?? I don’t know if you folks have noticed but we’ve had a rash of really needy Pugs here lately!!! If you can find it in your heart to spare a few dollars or even some change for my friend Johnnie I sure would appreciate it. Our Angels take such wonderful care of all of us and work so tirelessly to raise funds so we never ever go without!!! And one more thing, I want to say a special Thank You to all the Doctors and staff at Oakland Animal Hospital. Thank you for taking such good care of my friend Johnnie!!!
